Requirements for a Minor in Legal Reasoning and Analysis
To earn a minor in Legal Reasoning and Analysis, students must earn 18 semester hours including the following:
A. One course from each of the following groups
1. Logic
2. Analytical Reasoning
B. 12 hours of Legal Reasoning and Analysis courses. Courses are broken down into the categories based on core skills identified by the American Bar Association. Students must take courses from 4 of the 6 following categories:
1. Critical Reading and Problem Solving
2. Writing and Editing
3. Oral Communication
4. Research
5. Background Knowledge and Exposure to Law
6. Commitment to Justice
C. At least 9 hours must be at the 3000 or 4000 level.
D. A grade of C is required for all courses in the minor.
E. At least 12 hours must be taken in residence.
